The community stages a variety of festivals throughout the year, including the annual Downtown Spring Arts & Crafts Festival, the Memorial Day Parade, the Scottish Festival & Highland Games, the Fourth of July Celebration, the Mountain Heritage Festival, Sorghum Festival, and the Holiday on the Square & Christmas Parade. Nearby, Blue Ridge, GA offers an old-fashioned railway coupled with boutique-style shops on its historic Main Street.
Crossing Creeks RV Resort is also conveniently located to access the many surrounding areas of interest. The Georgia Mountain Fair, held in mid-July at the Fairgrounds in nearby Hiawassee, draws over 300,000 people. The John Campbell Folk School offers a variety of arts and crafts classes. Lake Nottely offers boating, fishing and other water sports, and the Appalachian Trail and all its beauty is just 14 miles away. Six golf courses surround the area and Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia, is just a short drive from the resort.
